I have noticed that whenever the mouse leaves the window of WinPing,
or I hit Alt-Tab to switch windows, i get a runtime error.  :)

More importantly, it gets a run time error when there is packet loss on the
net.  Funny, since this is one of the original intentions of having ping --
to note network traffic.

Is the programmer working on this?  Or is there a better copy of a windows
ping program out there?

by the way....this is Version 93.10.03   :)

If the application in question is John Junod's WS_PING (I don't know
of any WinPing), then the most recent version is 94.01.27.  Available
from ftp.usma.edu.  The version that I have functions without any GPFs,
and is quite useful as it also includes an IP lookup.

    First, let's get one thing straight...it isn't from just one
access provider.

    Second, I get those speeds too, until it locks up.  The other night
I had it running for well over 3 hours...another night I had it running
for about 30 minutes.  That is all my problem is...it doesn't run
continuously, it hangs after an arbitrary period of time.

    I'd love to get it running, as it is a 'cheap' produce to recommend
to my users once I have the bugs out of the process, but as it is now, I
wouldn't dare...it would make my administration processes much more harried
then they are now.

In the Windows section of the "What's New" page, the folks at NCSA imply that
wplany.exe will play the sound files through the PC speaker.  I assume that no
sound card is needed.  If this is true, how do you set it up?

Yes, RTFM (and get a 3 button mouse).

You copy to the clipboad just like with any other x-term,
and you paste into a win app just like normal.
